The University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) has been serving the educational needs of learners in Texas since 1881. Since those early days UIW has been an innovator with a variety of programs that have been developed to meet the needs of each of its student populations. 

These programs include our international initiatives, our adult programs, as well as Universe Online. Students can select to take classes on-ground or online.  It is up to you!

Understanding the unique requirements of our active duty military students, UIW has programs that are deployment friendly. We understand that “mission first” is a requirement for our service personnel. Our faculty and staff will work with you to complete your program of study while you are serving in our armed forces. 

We stay at “cap” for both our undergraduate and graduate courses and we offer all students in the military free textbooks. Veterans, dependants of active duty, as well as retirees and DOD civilians have excellent tuition rates.

UIW recognizes that going to school can be a heavy financial burden. For that reason we give all of our students free textbooks.
