College accreditation is formal recognition that a program, school, college,  or university meets specific academic and educational standards that are set by nationally recognized accrediting organizations.

Each Communiversity @ Surprise higher education partner has accreditation from a reputable agency. West-MEC is a technical public high school district, and thus not accredited by the agencies listed below.

Glendale Community College, Phoenix College, Rio Salado College, Ottawa University and Western International University are accredited by The Higher Learning Commission, a Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

The University of the Incarnate Word is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
